Top 5 iOS Navigation and Maps Apps in Latin America - Q2 2021

The second quarter of 2021 showcased interesting trends for the leading navigation and maps applications on the iOS platform in Latin America. Here’s a breakdown of the performance of the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads steadily increasing from around 147K at the start of the quarter to approximately 174K by the end of June. Active users also showed a positive trend, starting at 11.9M and growing to about 12.6M by the end of the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced consistent weekly downloads, ranging from 65K to 73K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users saw an upward trend, starting at 4.9M and reaching approximately 5.3M by the end of June.

Google Earth showed a gradual increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 24.5K in mid-April before stabilizing around 22K towards the end of June. The app’s active users remained fairly stable, ranging between 140K and 150K throughout the quarter.

Map for Instagram saw varied performance in weekly downloads, with significant spikes such as 9.8K in late April and 2K in mid-June. Revenue trends were relatively stable, with weekly earnings fluctuating between $140 and $435, peaking at $435 in late April.

Lastly, Google Street View had more modest weekly downloads, averaging around 3.5K to 4.1K. Active users saw slight fluctuations, ranging from 4.3K to 4.8K over the quarter.
